ion Color Brilliance Intensive Shine Demi Permanent Creme Hair Color is a state-of-the-art European Ionic Formula that is a luxurious, long-lasting, deposit-only hair color without ammonia. This hair color covers and blends gray hair up to 100% without lifting the hair's natural pigment. The formula will allow same-day color with chemical relaxers and permanent waves.

ion Hair Color’s superior quality, proprietary blends are formulated in Italy by our expert team of chemists to deliver unparalleled results. Our unique system combines the finest quality natural and exotic ingredients with powerful high-tech compounds to achieve exquisite, brilliant color with superior gray coverage. ion Hair Color science relies on the power of micro-pigmentation—our microscopic pigment molecules oxidize slower, allowing them to penetrate deep into the cortex of each hair strand for long-lasting, fade-resistant color.

ion's formulas are PPD-free and enriched with Hyaluronic Acid, Argan Oil, Pequi Oil, and botanicals to nourish and strengthen hair from within. Not to mention, ion Hair Color is gentle on hair, containing up to 38% less ammonia than the leading professional brands on the market. Unlock your hair’s true potential with Ion’s cutting-edge, salon-quality color science and bring home vibrancy like never before.

The Ionic formula provides protection for stronger hair structure. ion Color Brilliance Demi Permanent Creme Hair Color contains botanically derived nourishing ingredients with a refreshing fragrance.

  • Select desired shade. Mix 2 oz. of ion Intensive Shine Demi Hair Color with 4 oz. ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer 10 Volume in a non-metallic bowl. Mixing ratio is 1:2 unless otherwise noted. All instructions are based on average texture, normal porosity; Fine hair is much more receptive to hair coloring where coarse hair is not.

Use ion Color Brilliance Pre-Color Treatment to help ensure even color results from scalp to ends. A five-minute cool down is recommended if heat is used prior to rinsing. Standard processing time is 10-40 minutes at room temperature and 10-15 minutes with heat. After processing, rinse hair thoroughly until the water runs clear. Shampoo and style as desired.
  • Demi-permanent hair color is the most versatile kind of haircolor, because it lasts much longer than semi-permanent color (up to six weeks). It is sometimes referred to as deposit-only hair color or non-lift deposit-only color, because it’s formulated to deposit (add), but not to lift (lighten) color. Demi-permanent color is ideal for blending or covering gray (up to 100 percent!) and enhancing, deepening, or changing the tone of your natural color. It also adds intense shine.

Always wear gloves. Using a non-metallic bowl or tint bottle, mix 2 oz. of ion Color Brilliance Intensive Shine Demi Permanent Creme Hair Color with either 2 oz. or 4 oz. ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer 10 volume. Apply mixture immediately after mixing to dry hair. Do not store mixture; container may burst.

For natural, non-color-treated hair (virgin application):  Apply  formula to the scalp area.  Immediately work through mid-lengths and ends.

For Retouching:  Apply formula to the scalp (new growth) area.  Process for half the recommended processing time, and then work formula through the mid-lengths and ends.  Finish processing. Because 45-50% of color loss is attributed to shampooing, it is imperative to use hair care products formulated for color-treated hair.

Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3N the color i use is 3N and its perfect, ive tried 5n, 5g and 3w and ive finally found my perfect color which is 3N. yes, the color is very dark when you first do it but it will fade. it also doesn't dry my hair out or damage it and smells quite pleasant. i will never use permanent hair color again this stuff is just too good!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Get a shade lighter then what you want I'm going to start of by saying listen to the reviews, this dye does take pretty dark. I wanted a dark to medium golden brown and I kept in mind that it comes out darker then you would expect so I got the light golden brown (5g) and it came out to a perfect medium brown. My hair to begin with was a medium ashy type of brown but I wanted more warmth. If I would of went with a medium brown I can guarantee you my hair probably would of went black like it did for a lot of people in these reviews.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Results are REALLY dark I bought this in store from one of the staff recommending the Demi permanent Color instead of a toner on my medium brown hair, I had honey dipped highlights and wanted to neutralize the brassiness. She said to use a Demi permanent instead of a toner (which I had used before and didn’t have amazing results). She recommended the 7NA MEDIUM NEUTRAL ASH BLONDE. Great, so I follow all instructions and go through the process, guess what my hair is almost black, BLACK!!! It’s like a super rich dark brown, with red undertones, highlights are almost completely non existent now. The colour isn’t ash at all, I can only imagine what it’s going to look like as it fades out, I despise red tones in my hair. And this was from a BLONDE dye! I’m not happy at all, and I’m going to call the store and let them know what happened so they don’t unknowingly do this to anyone else. My hair looks nothing like the swatch in store. Luckily my highlights were done by me and I didn’t pay a fortune for them, but still. Pretty annoying, but lesson learned not to buy these ones again. And I’ll have to go to a hairdresser next time due to the awful reds it has in it. Would not recommend this product at all! My only hope is that it’ll fade out without the red tones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Colour I had blonde balayaged hair but after months of having it, my hair turned brassy and i just wanted my natural hair colour back and this did the trick!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meh. I'm not impressed with the longevity of this dye. There was very little blue hue after rinsing the dye, more of a soft black tone, and it fades much quicker than the demi black-blue that other brands offer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10 Outta 10, would recommend Demi Permanent colour is a great alternative to permanent colour. Demi deposits colour, whereas permanent lifts (lightens) your hair level and then deposits the colour. Great product that isn’t harsh on your hair like other dyes and takes a long time to fade, but is easy to change if not your desired outcome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Blonde This is a warm brown colour. I would not call it blonde.

How does this work on dark hair?

Asked by: Kirsten0823
It works great. It seems to color darker so you might want to go one shade lighter.

how often can i use this dye for an all over color? ive used this dye twice but the color is still not dark enough for me so i want to go in with a 3N all over my hair but i just dyed my hair a week ago, will the dye still work to darken my hair?

Asked by: raerae604
Yup. That should be fine. 3N may look almost black initially and fade slightly after many many washes.

I had a Kerasmooth Intensive treatment professionally done at the salon last week. Can I use this hair dye safely or will it negatively affect the keratin treatment?

Asked by: Danielaxo
Sorry I have never had a keratin treatment, so do not know the answer to this, you should reach out to that manufacturer.  However, .i can tell you that this semi permanent creme hair colour is fabulous.  Leaves the hair shining silky and the colour is always the same.  Love it

I have dark brown hair and have balayage that’s has become very brassy. Was looking at the 5N Light Brown Demi colour to bring down the balayage to a lighter shade of brown. Will this work, or do I need a lighter colour? Or should I only use a toner?

Asked by: Mirayo80
Use a toner if you use a permanent colour only on the balayage portion you will never get it all and it’ll end up super spotty and you’ll have basically a band of blonde

Hi there. I need 4 ion demi 6RC's, because the person's hair I am colouring is waist level and very thick. However, I am only allowed to put one in my cart. When will I be able to purchase this product in multiples? Thank you.
