I used the 5V cream to try and go to a light purple with only a 10 developer and my hair turned out much darker then expected. Salon suggested the 10V. I ordered the 5V liquid now and wondering if I use 30V and the new liquid if it will lighten?

Asked by: KailaDawn
I would say 30V developer is going to get your hair lighter but it also depends on your hair type. My hair is coarse & black and I used the 30V, left it for the longest processing time to get it to blonde. So if 10V doesn't work so well, for sure 30V will work better but just make sure you proceed with caution

Hi there I purchased T18 toner yesterday and not sure what developer to use with it. I died my hair but it’s definitely too warm for me.

I recommend using 20vol developer as it's less harsh to the hair than using 30 or 40. 10vol is not enough to carry the pigment out of your hair. You mentioned that you've dyed your hair, if you bleached it I wouldnt recommend doing it again for another 3 to 4 months as you will experience breakage from over processing. If you didnt then I would recommend waiting 3 to 4 weeks before you dye it again as your hair could be fragile even if it looks healthy.
