  • Mix Ratio: 1 part haircolor, 2 parts developer. Lighter than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 15 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes or until color is even. Darker than natural shade, first time application: Develop for 30 minutes, check, then process up to an additional 15 minutes if additional coverage is needed.

Tips for achieving optimum coverage on gray hair:

    1. Select a shade level 8 or darker for best coverage; Lighter shades will create a translucent effect.

    2. Shades from Natural or Gold Family will produce a more natural result with optimum coverage.

    3. Mix with 20 Volume Well Color Charm Developer

    4. Apply generously starting at the area with highest percentage of gray or most resistant.

    5. Process for 30 minute, extend to 45 minutes if needed.

    6. For better coverage on hair that is more than 50% gray, use a fashion shade from the Red Family and mix with equal parts of Wella Color Charm Natural or Gold shade at the same level.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It was fine, It was a lot smaller than I thought, my fault for not paying attention to the size of the product. I did no see anywhere in the description that this product required other product to be used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Colouring grey roots + cap highlights w/colorcharm I've been using color charm for years on my grey roots; ever since I discovered I could buy professional colour retail at Sally Beauty. I've always disliked drug store colour. The models on the boxes had shiny gorgeous locks -- but my hair colour was dull and lifeless after using such haircolour, nothing like the packaging advertising. With experimentation and videos I now colour + cap highlight my hair exclusively using only Sally products. I save money and soooo much time -- no more sitting at the hair salon! People tell me my hair looks great! And I like the control/creativity of doing it myself.

Just got a balayage, and it is a bad copper and blonde color that looks reddish orange, what do I have to do to eb able to cover it up?

Asked by: TFramp76
Hi there,  I think the best thing is a Dark ash blonde may cover orange brassy hair. Ashy tones Will help off set the red -orange color and you may want to use a dark ash blonde toner if your hair is a strong reddish-orange

I have bleached balayage hair and I want to go to a warm deep brown. Any suggestions on what colours to use for final colour and for a filler?

Asked by: kelsey123234234
A level 4n colour would give you a deep brown. It depends on how much red is on your natural hair. If not a lot you could add a 4w as well. To fill the the hair first you would use a 7n or so to get a base

Hi I bleached my hairs they turned out orange could you suggest me which colour should I use to get rid. I prefer golden brown.

Asked by: Jazz0019
You could use any colour with an Ash...  Ash cuts the red tones.

I’m trying to get rid of red in my hair. Would you think a ashy brown would take the red out?

Asked by: Halie_loiselle
On the colour wheel, green cancels red, so yes an ash based colour will diminish the red tones.Specifically, 5A, 5AA, 7AA.

Used 5N liquid with 20 vol. turned quite brassy and not as dark as other brands of 5N. Should I mix 50:50 5N and 4A? If so can I use it with 20 vol again?

Asked by: Jt073013
Hmm, not sure I can help you.  I used Wella 5A liquid with Salon Care 20 volume creme developer  in 1:2 mix ratio (Wella developer was out of stock) and the color turned out perfect- identical results to my hairdresser, who uses Goldwell.
