  • Permanent, vibrant, and contemporary colors Crème consistency provides easy application Use on pre-lightened or highlighted hair Vegan

ion Hair Color’s superior quality, proprietary blends are formulated in Italy by our expert team of chemists to deliver unparalleled results. ion's unique system combines the finest quality natural and exotic ingredients with powerful high-tech compounds to achieve exquisite, brilliant color with superior gray coverage. ion Hair Color science relies on the power of micro-pigmentation— ion's microscopic pigment molecules oxidize slower, allowing them to penetrate deep into the cortex of each hair strand for long-lasting, fade-resistant color.

Permanent brights provide bold, contemporary color that lasts. Unlock your hair’s true potential with Ion’s cutting-edge, salon-quality color science and bring home vibrancy like never before.

  • Apply on pre-lightened or highlighted hair, 1:1 mixing ratio. Two ounces of color to two ounces of 10 Volume ion Sensitive Scalp Creme Developer. Bowl and brush application is recommended. Always read the product packaging and inserts for complete directions, instructions, and warnings, and make sure to perform both the strand test and the patch test before applying your color.

If you have never colored your hair and you want to change your current hair color or you have not colored in 3 months or longer follow these steps:

    • Apply hair color mixture to dry, unwashed hair
    • Work gently through hair as you would a shampoo. Loosely pile hair on top of head
    • Process according to manufacturer’s directions. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather
    • Rinse until the water runs clear.

If you color your hair every 4-6 weeks with a shade of similar tone and level follow these steps:

    • Make 1/4” partings throughout dry, unwashed hair
    • Apply mixture onto new growth area only, working from the front to the back of your head. Leave color on new growth area for 25 minutes. When processing time is complete, add a small amount of warm water to hair and work into lather
    •  Rinse until the water runs clear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please read for advice! You need to follow the instructions and use this product properly!! Otherwise it will not work for you! 10 vol. developer ONLY. Wash in cold water. If you've gotta bleach before using it, space it out! You can't bleach your hair day one, slap on some dye day 2, and expect it to last. It's just not gonna happen. Also, research the colour you want to use beforehand on youtube. That one's just common sense. A lot of people are upset about fading... Yes, it is a "permanent" colour, but dye washes out each time you wash it, even box dye will do this, and fashion colours just aren't made to last unfortunately. Keep your expectations realistic. If you want a permanent fashion colour, buy a wig. Now, as for why I like this product... This is my first time using it and I am in love, and likely will buy this brand again. It doesn't hurt your scalp or your hair if used properly. The colour is so vibrant, fades a tiny bit through each wash but that's what I expected. I love the colour, I love how it made my hair feel when washing the dye out (sooooo silky!). It took a long time to wash out (I have long and thick hair) but it was so worth it. I used Radiant Orchid on... I'd say level 7-8, and I let some purple shampoo sit in my hair for a while before dying it. My pictures are as follows: The day after, a few days after, after the first washout, a few days after the first washout, and after the third washout. Use this product properly and it will treat you well. Disregard a lot of the negative reviews, they likely haven't used this product correctly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Didn't come out how I wanted, but still happy I bought the permanent red, after switching from using Arctic Fox Hair Dye in the color Poison. I left it on prelightened hair for the allotted time, and when I washed it, it looked red in the lighting I had, but when I looked at it the next day you can clearly tell it's more pink than red. I'm not angry about it, but I am disappointed because I've been dying my hair red for years and wanted to try a new product. I am luckily happy with the current color, but please don't promote something as red when it's clearly a pink color. ALSO THIS IS TO THE REVIEWER THAT LEFT THE "Forgot the color? The hair dye was literally white instead of purple" REVIEW SINCE I CAN'T COMMENT ON IT YOU ARE MEANT TO MIX THE COLOR WITH DEVELOPER, WHICH HELPS THE DYE OXIDIZE INTO THE ACTUAL COLOR. IF YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS AND DID IT PROPERLY, IT WOULD HAVE DYED YOUR HAIR PURPLE. I USED THE PURPLE AND A BLUE ON MY FRIENDS HAIR AND THEY BOTH DO THIS AND CAME OUT JUST HOW SHE WANTED So please for the love of all that is good, please do your research before buying something that could potentially damage your hair if used incorrectly or if you have no experience with dyeing your hair. Thank you

Does the colour come with the developer, or do you need to buy the developer separately?

Asked by: Embalina

Do I need 20 volume peroxide with purple ion color? Or can I just use any 20 volume from any brand?

Asked by: Lisaraspberry
You shouldn't need a peroxide??? That tube of coloured dye goes over bleached hair. If anything, use conditioner to get a more pastel vibe

Hi, I've been dying my hair with Vidal Sassoon Salonist 4/46 Dark Red Violet. I do have quite a bit of grey hair. What hair dye & developer could I use to dye my hair the same'ish colour? Thanks!

Asked by: LittleLizzy
The one I use for that almost sane colour is L’Oreal HiColor #H20 Red Violet and then add between a quarter and half tube of Ion Permanent Brights in Purple. Makes it turn out so vibrant and beautiful!!! I get complimented all the time on it!

If I have dark brown hair and don’t want to bleach my hair first before doing a colour, can I just use a higher developer?

Asked by: Christeena
It depends on how dark your hair is. The higher the developer the more your hair will burn(the lovely itchy scalp) I dye my wifes hair which is medium brown (light mahogany) I use a 30 developer but leave the dye in for 45min instead of 30 the result is a vibrant red colour that shines.

I've been using one of the major store brands of blonde on my hair for a while and want to go purple (like periwinkle), do I need to use any kind of lightener first with any of the fashion colours? (Of any brand?)

Asked by: Boredathome
I used it on my daughter’s lightened hair with a cream developer of 10.   You should be able to do the same. She has brown hair so we needed to make it a bit lighter to be able to see the color.
