Rated 1 out of 5 by from White snow toner doesnt work I have blonde hair. All different levels of bleached blonde. Didnt want to go to hairdresser so i just wanted a quick fresh up. Some of the blonde was going yellow. Blue shampoo usually works better but wrecks my hair. I wanted something less . I will say this does leave hair soft. But didnt do anything for me. Very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great My hair was a level 10 blonde and the colour turned out nothing like the advertised one. It has also been two weeks and any dampness to my hair stains everything bright red.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great colour, but stains for ages. So, the colours are great a bit dark, but these colours always fade so that's not a big deal. It runs off and stains for ages though. I rinsed my hair twice, both times a good amount of time, and it would still rub off on my hands when I did my hair. It also stained my face when I rinsed it out, thankfully I've been dying my hair for years and was able to get it off. It might just be the particular colour, but I was unimpressed.

Will this color take on silver grey hair?

Asked by: Joy70ygn
Great question! Grey hair can be very resistant to any hair color and even though it is light in color, it often needs to be pre-lightened or otherwise processed in order for Manic Panic Semi-Permanent Hair Color to work best. Bleaching hair not only makes hair light enough for the colors to show up properly, it also opens up the cuticles of the hair strands so that the dye molecules can be absorbed. If not wanting to bleach your hair, you can wash hair with a clarifying shampoo (like our Prepare to Dye Clarifying Shampoo) but do not condition at all. This will remove dirt and oils in the hair while also opening the cuticle. Results vary from person to person because everyone's hair is different, so regardless if you decide to bleach or not, we always recommend doing a strand test to see how the shade will show up on your hair. It says not to rinse the hair in the shower.. why not?

Asked by: Sarahcards
Hi! Manic Panic hair colors can stain anything that is porous (just like your hair!) so it is best to cover your work area with plastic bags, plastic wrap, tin foil, newspaper, etc. to ensure you do not get any unwanted staining on your home surfaces. Always rinse your hair under a faucet and away from your face. We do not recommend rinsing your freshly colored hair in the shower, as this can cause the color to splatter and stain your shower walls & tub. Some bathroom surfaces are more porous than others – better to be safe than sorry! For any questions or tips, please contact our color experts via email: anytime.

so i want to dye my hair, and i want to try purple haze. my hair is medium brown/chestnut brown and short. hair dye doesn’t usually stick very well in my hair. should i attempt to lighten my hair befor i dye it and what should i use to lighten it? xoxo

Hi! In order to achieve swatch results and a vibrant shade you apply the color to a clean blonde base. We recommend pre lightening using our Flash Lightening Bleach Kit 30 Volume to a pale blonde (level 9-10) this will give the most intense results. Before using all over, I recommend doing a test strip first to preview the results and judge how much time is needed to lighten to the desired shade. After the test strip, apply the bleach to the middle of the hair section first, often referred to as the "cold zone", since this section will take the longest to lift. Once you are approaching the desired level of blonde you will apply the bleach to your roots and pull through to your ends. The maximum time the bleach should be left on hair is around 50 minutes. We also recommend checking the level and texture of your hair every 10 minutes to make sure your hair isn't being overprocessed. Please visit our Instagram: @manicpanicnyc and YouTube channel for helpful tutorials on the process. For any additional questions, please feel free to email our Color Experts at where we are available to help you 7 days a week!

2 months ago, my daughters hair dyed, lightened blond on dark brown hair. and then dyed dark blue. it has faded to a greenish tint. Now she wants a deep bright red. how can i do this at home? I bought 3 PM in the bright red 4oz bottles. 2 bx lightener

If you bleach her whole head hopefully the dark blue will lift. Ion bleach and developer works well, but if the first bleach doesnt work you’ll have to bleach the pieces that didnt lift afterward.
