  • Pre-lighten the hair to desired level before applying toner. Mix 1 part Wella Color Charm toning color with 2 parts 20 volume Wella Color Charm developer. Apply to towel dried hair then, develop for up to 30 minutes. Check frequently to see if desired results are achieved.
  • You can customize the toner formula by intermixing shades. For example, if you want a shade that is in between an ash tone and a warm tone, try mixing equal parts of T-18 and T-14 with equal parts of T-11 or T-35.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lot of Punch in a Small Bottle Worked really well toning my hair to a lovely ash blonde. And considering I have long(waist length), thick hair, one bottle managed to get most of my hair. I would recommend buying two if you want to get your whole head and have hair like mine.

What toner could I use for hair that is root 3n and hair is balayged lightened and then cooper I want to add more dark back in as it’s too cooper and red.

Asked by: Kaileehouston
Use a demi permanent. Even though these say they are toners they are permanent dye and only work on really light hair (level 10+). If you get it on your darker strands they will lighten and turn coppery. A demi will not affect your roots and is essentially a toner.

I dyed my hair over a month ago to a ashy mushroom colour but it faded to orange quickly. Which toner and developer would be better for my desired colour (pale ashy). My hair also lightens very quickly

Does this work on light brown hair? I used to be blonde, and had it died closer to my natural dark brown colour over a year ago. I haven't coloured it since and it has faded to a brassy light brown/with blonde ends. Hoping this will help remove brassiness

Yes! I used this on my dark brown hair (I did bleach it the before my first dye) and haven’t re bleached it since and have been applying the colour to my hair still and it stills comes out super blue! If you do it on super blonde hair the fade out is way more green. Check out my insta @moosemeatdiaries to see how it’s looked since March! I even mix conditioner in with the dye before application so it’s not so harsh.

I have blonde "balayage", some strands of platinum, ash blonde and yellow. I want my hair to be one colour preferably light ash blonde- platinum, which toner should I use to even out the colours? And do I apply it all over my head?

Asked by: juicythick
If you're looking for light ash platinum blonde go with t18. This is the colour my hair stylist recommended.

Try the t18 it won’t do anything on orange but should handle that yella.

I have no clue what toner to use to help with toning my hair. How do I know which toner to buy?

Asked by: Justiss1
If you're hair is alright light and you're looking to get rid of the yellow pigment in your hair I would go for a wella T14 or a T18. The T14 is my best bet when I'm trying to make my hair icy grey or white
